The Writer's Conundrum...

In the recent months, I haven't been posting to this blog, but believe it or not, these past few months have been some of the most prolific writing months of my life. I've gotten a great start ofn a new screenplay, edited my first novel into a marketable form, written three short stories that i've been shopping around, and am working on at least another three works in progress...

All in all, I've been writing everywhere but here, which upsets me a bit, and has me wondering if I should just shut down DOA entirely.

The problem is that I really like this blog... but it lacks direction... and to a greater extent, purpose in my increasingly writing filled lifestyle. The cutesy slice of life things that have found their way here for so many years tend to have reduced themselves to one sentence facebook updates, and I have trouble writing here without feeling like I'm pulling myself from other projects. I only stopped to write this entry because I'm stalling for an idea to move forward my latest short story... I actually have been thinking of doing a fiction serial, which would lend itself to the blog format, but I know that if I do that, my chances of continuing to post to DOA rapidly spiral toward zero.

Other writers I've talked to are of two minds about the importance of bolgs as well... Many view them as a useful marketing tool, but others view them as a nagging distraction. Obviously, I'm split on this, but I know in my heart that I need to either poop or get off the pot on this blog. I've given up NaBloPoMo for NaNoWriMo, and I think that shows real growth for me as a writer with professional aspirations.

Another issue I'm having is that Short Stuff's Bio-dad has voiced his concern with me posting things about his son... yeah, he's just being more than a bit of a douchebag, but I try not to antagonize him out of respect for Short Stuff, and out of the concept of not stooping to that level.

But I'm rambling now, and that don't pay for the iced mochas at French Press. What does everyone think? Does anyone even read this blog any more? Would y'all miss it if it was gone?

I still check in from time to time, and yes I would/will miss it!
